Cattails in beds of wastewater treatment facilities can be used to improve the quality of wastewater, produce abundant starches and according to a new research can be used to produce sustainable ethanol. The county manger has signed a professional services agreement with Sustainable Technology Systems Inc. to test the procedure of converting cattails to ethanol.
