Designed by Rochus Jacob, the Thermodynamic Concept cooler is perfect for high-tech kitchens of the emerging world, which need the aid of technology without consuming too much energy in the process. The system makes use of the cooling effect when water evaporates to preserve food items without making use of even a single watt of electrical power.
The cooler consists of two pots with the space between them filled with glass-foam, which in itself is a waste product of the glass recycling industry. The inner pot is covered with a damp cloth, which on evaporation produces a cooling effect. The designer believes that the concept cooler can also destroy harmful micro-organisms, preserving the freshness of food inside. All the user has to do to keep the cooling procedure going is to add some water from time to time.
