Solar energy, though expensive, gives campers what they want – charge on the move. Be it cellphones, GPS and even torches, everything that can help you out during an emergency can be charged via solar energy. Industrial designers are trying out their skills in designing portable devices that come with built-in solar chargers so that you don’t have to carry additional chargers in your camping gear.
The Solaris lamp is one such gadget that consists of an onboard solar panel that charges the system’s internal batteries, which then fuel a set of LED lights providing illumination. The device can be hung from your backpack or can be held in your hand depending upon your requirements.
