Eco Cars: Mazda debuts Norwegian-spec RX-8 Hydrogen RE
Anupam | Apr 28 2009

Eco Factor: Zero-emission car powered by hydrogen.

Mazda’s ecofriendly hydrogen-powered car the RX-8 Hydrogen RE made it to the streets of Norway last October, when 30 cars were imported from Japan. With the increase in the number of people opting for greener rides, the company has launched the Norwegian version of the car. The only changes Norwegian customers would get are left-hand drive and a manual transmission.

The first unit will take part in ceremonies marking the office opening of HyNor’s hydrogen filling stations on May 11. The HyNor project aims to make hydrogen powered vehicles more realistic and practical by enabling them to travel along a 580km stretch of highway by establishing a chain of stations on the highway.
