Anupam | Nov 9 2009

Eco Factor: Low-emission Humvee to be powered by hybrid drivetrain.

U.S. Army has selected EnerDel to develop a hybrid Humvee battery that will be used by the military in the US and overseas. The army will work with EnerDel, which is expected to work with the Army Tank Automotive Research, Development and Engineering Center for a period of 18 months.

The team is expected to deliver four prototype power systems that can be used in the new XM1124 Humvee. Compared to the Humvee being used today, the XM1124 has faster acceleration, offers more speed and is more fuel efficient.
